Grants from the Dr Johannes and Hertha Tuba foundation

On behalf of the Dr Johannes and Hertha Tuba foundation, the Medical University of Innsbruck invites applications for grants every year to fund and support science in the field of gerontology and geriatrics (ageing research).

Applicants must have completed a degree in human medicine or dentistry, reside or work in Tyrol and pursue research or diagnostics and treatment in the field of gerontology and geriatrics.

Young scientists in particular are also invited to apply.

Tender specification

The grants fund the following subsidies up to a maximum of 5,000.-- Euros. The subsidy types listed below can be combined.

  1. Subsidies for consumables (offer for small equipment)
  2. Subsidies for other costs, including:
  • Usage costs for core facilities
  • Costs for test subject fees
  • Costs for the external performance of project-specific work (e.g. analyses to be contracted out, surveys, sampling, production of thin sections and similar)
  1. Subsidies for the organisation of conferences in the field of gerontology and geriatrics in Tyrol
  2. Subsidies for the organisation of guest lectures in the field of gerontology and geriatrics at the Medical University of Innsbruck, up to a maximum of 1,500.-- Euros.
  3. Subsidies for participation fees in congresses and conferences in the field of gerontology and geriatrics (no travel expenses).

  • Letter of application with a brief written statement about the purpose of use or, if applicable, a brief project description, highlighting the geriatric/gerontological objective.
  • Application form (generated in GAR)
  • Curriculum vitae with list of publications
  • Statement of costs
  • Offers, if applicable

Applications are possible on rolling basis.

Grants are awarded by the Medical University of Innsbruck. There is no legal entitlement to this funding.
