Visa information

Students who are not citizens of a member state of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland must apply for a residence permit (Aufenthaltsbewilligung) for Austria. Usually the application is submitted from abroad before traveling to Austria (with the exception of citizens of the Unites States of America and citizens of Japan, who may submit the application after their arrival in Austria). Application forms are available at the Austrian embassies and consulates, in your home country and at all Austrian universities.
