Imaris
Imaris is a commercial software package allowing to perform advanced and challenging interactive 3D image analyses. Due to the high hardware requirements MUI Imaris is offered on a high-performance image processing workstation located in room M01.370, which can be booked via the online booking system. In general the software is nowadays suited for all kinds of fluorescence images, isosurface renderings, advanced movies and it offers also a number of features for automatisation of analyses and plotting of the results.
MUI has purchased a number of additional software options allowing to analyze colocalisation (Coloc) and to perform tracking eg. of vesicles but also whole cells (Track) or to measure the properties of neurons (Filament Tracer). More detailed information is available on the website of the vendor. The software also reads most image formats used in confocal imaging, including lif files. For general 3D analysis, though, it is highly recommended to combine SP5 imaging, Huygens Deconvolution and Imaris for optimum results.
Attention: Results from Huygens Deconvolution need to be stored in ics or ics2 format in order to be properly read in by Imaris.
The image processing workstation is also equipped with MS Office, Fiji and MATLAB and allows access to the Huygens Professional server and to the MUI network in order to facilitate data transfer via the networkdrives.
